Fox Mountain Update

We have investigated and addressed the recent reports of access problems at Fox Mountain, and we believe the issues there have been resolved. Our relationship with the neighboring landowners is still positive and secure, and our access to the mountain and caves is not in jeopardy. On a related note, the Historic Entrance to Hurricane Cave remains closed for the time being, but we are actively meeting and working with the DOT and DNR to try to regain access through that entrance. The natural SUnbeam entrance is open. Recent construction and survey activity around the entrance and the ends of the access tunnel are part of that project. Parking behind Sue's Market is unchanged. The fence ladder and trail have been restored, and down trees and other obstructions have been removed from the trail. It is possible that similar issues may reoccur, and we would appreciate it if visitors would notify the Fox Mountain Management Committee immediately if any unusual activity or changes are observed at the preserve.
