This cave is managed by Tumbling Rock, Inc., an  Alabama non-profit corporation.A voluntary donation is requested from all adult visitors only to help defray the expenses the corporation has in managing the property. All staff members are unpaid volunteers. Your donations help manage, protect, and preserve Tumbling Rock Cave for the enjoyment of future cavers.   1. All visitors must sign a release and disclaimer before entering the cave.

  2. By entering the cave, you certify that you are in a good enough state of health to engage in what could be a strenuous activity.

  3. Proper equipment is required, including a helmet, appropriate footwear, and three sources of light.

  4. Please follow the NSS guidelines for responsible caving.

    1. Writing on or defacing cave walls is prohibited and is against the law.

    2. Removing anything, other than trash, from the cave is prohibited and is against the law.

    3. Leaving trash in the cave is prohibited – bring out whatever you take in.

    4. Toilets are provided outside, so please do not pollute the cave.

  5. The placing of bolts or other artificial anchors is prohibited without the express written consent of Tumbling Rock Inc. Climbing in the area of the Topless Dome is not allowed.
  6. If you plan to visit areas other than the typical tourist route, please let the property manager know where you will be going and what time you anticipate returning.

  7. Camping in the cave is not generally allowed. Under certain circumstances special arrangements may be made.

  8. Please do not climb on or around the remnants of the Saltpeter Vats.

  9. Please do not touch or deface any of the historical signatures.

  10. Upon exiting the cave, please do not change clothes in public. Use the provided changing areas.

  11. Please respect the privacy of all our neighbors.

  12. Please refrain from making loud noises or consuming any intoxicating substances in the cave or on the property.

  13. Please do not smoke in the cave, and do not drop cigarette butts on the ground outside.

  14. Use of the property for any type of commercial activity is not allowed.

Commercial Use Statement
The Board of the Southeastern Cave Conservancy, Inc. (SCCi) reaffirms its standing policy that bans the commercial use of our properties, and specifically, prohibits any activity where a charge of any type is made. Should you have any questions, contact the SCCi Chair at chair@scci.org .
