Southeastern Cave Conservancy, Inc.
Frick's Cave Management Plan
Adopted 18 May 1997, revised 16 August 1997
The purpose of the SCC Frick's Cave Preserve is to protect the
habitat of endangered and threatened animal species which inhabit the
cave. The cave and property are therefore not considered recreational
sites and will have very limited and carefully managed access.
Primary consideration will be given to the protection and
preservation of the cave and its inhabitants.
- The cave is closed to all access with the exception of access
required for wildlife management, scientific study, and/or
stewardship and conservation work. Such access will be by specific
permission of the Board and will be made under the supervision of
the property manager. The Board will consider other access in the
future after an assessment has been made of the impact of such
access on the cave and its inhabitants.
- The surface property will be open as a day use area only.
Vehicles, bicycles, and horses are limited to existing roads and
designated parking areas. Due to the small size of the property
and the proximity of houses, hunting will not be allowed. Camping
or other use may be allowed only by specific permission of the
Frick's Cave Management Team.
- There will be no construction or other alteration of the
natural state of the property except as necessary to maintain the
property and the access road. Existing structures may be repaired
or maintained but will not be extended or expanded.
